• Special investigation unit leads to arrest of police, city, school and health officials (wchstv.com) — From its base in Charleston's Public Integrity and Fraud Unit has uncovered tens of millions in misspent taxpayer dollars and helped send corrupt officials to court. Investigators describe rampant nepotism, stolen payroll and budgets drained in small towns, stressing that every recovered dollar can instead support schools, water systems and community programs across the state.
