Residents can attend a public hearing in Martinsburg on October 5, with October 19 as a backup date, and review project files online beforehand to prepare comments.
   

• Berkeley County puts two properties up for sale in Hedgesville, Falling Waters - Tri-State Alert (tristatealert.com) — Berkeley County is accepting offers on two surplus properties, including a small parcel near Nestle Quarry Road in the Falling Waters area, with minimum bids starting at $1,650. Interested buyers must submit offers by 4 p.m. on September 30, and the County Commission will review them in early October, with details and forms available online or by phone.
   

• Maryland Man Admits to Role in Kidnapping and Multiple Murders (parsonsadvocate.com) — A multi-state kidnapping and murder case has direct ties to the Falling Waters area, where two Maryland witnesses were brought, drugged, killed, and their remains disposed of in the Potomac River. A Maryland man has now pled guilty to multiple counts, while a Falling Waters resident and others have also admitted roles, with all sentencings set for January 25, 2027.
