• Inaugural NRG Bike Fest cycling to Fayette County on October 2-4 (woay.com) — Oak Hill will host the first-ever NRG Bike Fest this Friday through Sunday, bringing guided rides, youth events, races, live music, and camping to the New River Gorge. Events span Arrowhead Bike Farm and ACE Adventure Resort, with a pay-what-you-can model and no required admission, making it easy for local riders and families to join the fun.
• Rochester and North Carolina Men Plead Guilty in Gun Trafficking Conspiracy (wnynewsnow.com) — A federal gun trafficking case reaching from North Carolina to New York briefly passed through Oak Hill, where officers stopped a vehicle in 2022 and seized two firearms. The guilty pleas of two men this week highlight how illegally trafficked weapons can move along interstate routes that cross Fayette County, even when local residents aren't directly involved.
