Mercer County Schools superintendent to retire, cites 'different perspectives on district's future' after changes to board (wvmetronews.com) — Mercer County residents should know that Schools Superintendent Edward Toman, based in Princeton, plans to retire when his contract ends next July, citing differing views with the newly changed school board. He says he'll continue serving through the transition while emphasizing his focus on students and the district's continued success as the board prepares to choose new leadership.
2. MCAS overcrowding issues and commission plans (wvnstv.com) — In Princeton, county leaders are scrambling to ease severe overcrowding at the Mercer County Animal Shelter after the local spay-and-neuter clinic closed earlier this year. Commissioners are seeking extra funding, out-of-state rescue partners, and urging residents to fix or keep pets indoors to curb the growing stray population.

Mercer County Clerk retires after 30+ years of service (wvnstv.com) — Mercer County residents in Princeton will soon see a change in the clerk's office as longtime Clerk Verlin Moye retires after more than 30 years of service. 4. Volleyball Recap: Princeton Escapes with a Win (maxpreps.com) — Princeton High's volleyball team just snapped a three-game skid by edging Ripley 2–1, avenging an earlier straight-set loss. The Tigers, now 18–9, next host Greenbrier West at 7 p.m. Thursday, giving Princeton fans a fresh chance to cheer on a surging squad at home.
