4 Children Die In Wisconsin House Fire

Six of the family's four children died, as did the family pets. The children who perished in the blaze were all elementary school students.

LITTLE FALLS, WI — A Wisconsin community is mourning the loss of four young children who died Thursday night in a house fire.

The blaze occurred about 9 p.m. in Little Falls, according to WKBT.

A GoFundMe established for the family received nearly $60,000 in donations in eight hours. According to the GoFundMe, the parents and two of their six children survived, but the four youngest children and the family pets perished in the blaze.

“As with an event like this they lost everything except for the clothes on their backs,” wrote Dennis Larsen, who organized the GoFundMe.

The children who died were all elementary students in the Melrose-Mindoro School District, according to a message posted Friday on the district Facebook page.

“Our efforts at this time are focused on supporting the family, our students and staff as we deal with this heartbreaking situation,” Superintendent Jeff Artz said in the message, adding that extra counselors were being made available to the school district community.
