WISCONSIN — Several Wisconsin public high schools reported average SAT scores near or above 1,400 in Niche’s latest college prep ranking.
Niche’s 2026 “Best College Prep Public High Schools in Wisconsin” ranking compares public schools based on factors including graduation rates, AP enrollment, state test scores and the quality of colleges students consider.
The company notes that SAT and ACT scores were removed from this year’s ranking formula to reflect the broader de-emphasis on test scores in the college admissions process. However, Niche still lists average SAT scores for many schools included in the ranking.
Here are Wisconsin public high schools with the highest average SAT scores listed by Niche:
Waukesha Engineering Preparatory Academy had the highest average SAT score listed among those schools, at 1490.
Reagan College Preparatory High School in Milwaukee had the second-highest average SAT score listed, at 1450. Brookfield Central High School followed at 1410.
