Fire At Michaels Craft Store May Have Been Arson, Police Say

The blaze began in the yarn aisle, according to Janesville police.

JANESVILLE, WI — Police are investigating possible arson at a Michaels craft store in Janesville, authorities said.

The incident was reported around 8 p.m. Wednesday, when police and firefighters responded to the store in the 2900 block of Deerfield Drive, according to law enforcement, who said the blaze began in the yarn aisle and may have been smoldering several minutes prior to ignition.

Employees put out the fire and all customers and workers evacuated the store, police said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Rock County Dispatch at 608-757-2244.
