Locked In Beer Cooler, Wisconsin Man Drinks All Night: Police
A Wisconsin man locked in a convenience store beer cooler overnight drank beer and knocked over a stack of beer cases, police said.

MANSFIELD, WI — A Wisconsin man who had previously been ordered by the court to remain sober found himself locked in a convenience store beer cooler overnight and drank some of the cooler’s contents before falling over a large stack of cased beer and breaking three of them, police said.
The Mansfield, Wisconsin, Kwik Trip was about to close at midnight Tuesday and when the glass door locked behind him, he decided he may as well stay inside the cooler and drink, according to the police report. And he did — consuming an 18-ounce bottle of beer and three cans of beer, according to the report.
The 38-year-old Mansfield man was later arrested on a retail theft charge and placed on a probation hold in the Wood County Jail on the earlier case, police said.

If the man had knocked, the report said, employees would have let him out, Gramza told the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune. Police said he walked out of the store without paying for the beer, leading to the retail theft charge.
Kwik Trip store officials told police they plan to review their security.
