Hours before he was arrested, Meyer texted, "If I show up to meet with you and you’re not who you say you are, I’m going straight to prison for 5-10 years," according to investigators.
Meyer began texting the undercover officer just two months after he was released from prison for a similar offense committed in Shawano County, Wisconsin, authorities said.
In that case, Meyer communicated with an undercover officer who he believed was a 15-year-old girl and sent her sexually explicit photographs, according to prosecutors.
The case was investigated by the Fox Valley Metro Police Department and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander E. Duros.
