Pans Sold By Costco 'Forcefully Eject' Hot Metal: What WI Shoppers Should Know
The recalled pans were also sold online by Amazon and Walmart.
A set of sauté pans is being recalled because the metal screw cap on the pans can detach and "forcefully eject" when heated, posing a potential threat to anyone using the pans, according to federal authorities.
The cap of the screw connecting the handle to the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pans has ejected at least 98 times, with one person suffering bruising and burn injuries, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
About 740,000 units were recalled on Thursday.

The pans were sold for about $40 in a two-piece set, measuring 10 inches and 11.5 inches, under UPC No. 0-80313-08131-6. They were available for purchase at Costco stores and online through the websites of Costco, Walmart and Amazon from August 2021 to February 2026.

Importer E. Mishan & Sons Inc. voluntarily recalled the pans, according to a notice for Costco members from Isaac Mishan, vice president of E. Mishan.
