Salmonella Outbreak Includes Wisconsin, 4 Infected: Salad Greens
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services said to avoid BrightFarms Inc pre-packaged salad greens, and that 4 people were infected.
ACROSS WISCONSIN — Four people in Wisconsin were infected, and one of them was hospitalized, from a Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak. The outbreak is from pre-packaged salad greens grown in Illinois, according to a Wisconsin Department of Health Services news release.
Illnesses from the outbreak began June 10-June 15, the DHS news release said. Consumers should avoid pre-packaged salad greens grown by BrightFarms, Inc. in Rochelle, Illinois, the Wisconsin DHS news release said.
DHS Communicable Diseases Supervisor Ryan Wozniak said that consumers should not purchase, eat or serve any BrightFarms branded pre-packaged salad greens at this time.

Any consumers or food establishments should dispose of the products regardless of their "best by" date, the DHS news release said.
Salmonella can cause salmonellosis. Symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pains, fever and vomiting, the DHS news release said.

If you are experiencing similar symptoms after eating a BrightFarms product, a local health care provider should be contacted, the news release said.
The outbreak has hospitalized one person in Wisconsin, and infected nine people across Wisconsin and Illinois, where the salad greens are grown, the news release said.
BrightFarms issued a voluntary recall on the products below, the news release said.
