Spider Infestation Forces WI School To Close; Student And Teacher Bit
Both the middle school student and teacher experienced swelling and itching from the bites.

MANITOWOC, WI — A spider infestation forced a Manitowoc County school to close last week, according to reports.
Wilson Middle School in Manitowoc canceled classes Friday after the spiders bit a student and a teacher, Principal Cory Erlandson said in a letter to parents published in full by WLUK.
The student who was bitten experienced itching and swelling of the arm, according to Erlandson, who said the teacher required medical attention for swelling, itching and pain. School personnel found and eliminated more than 30 of the yellow sac spiders in classrooms, he said, adding Manitowoc school district staff were investigating the source.
