MILWAUKEE, WI — On Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 marchers will gather in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Eau Claire for the Women’s March Wisconsin Day of Action.
Last January, women of all backgrounds came together on all seven continents of the world to show up and be counted as those who believe in a world that is equitable, tolerant, just and safe for all.
The Wisconsin chapter of Women's March will take the momentum of last year’s marches and harness the political power of diverse women, femmes and allies to create transformative social change.

Organizers say the goal for these events is to celebrate the work women of color have done over the past year by highlighting women of color-led organizations, candidates and elected officials. This includes featuring women of color as speakers, holding fundraising drives for grassroots organizations led by women of color, and addressing voter disenfranchisement and suppression.
- The Milwaukee Day of Action featured speakers include:
- Senator Lena Taylor of the 4th District
- Alderwoman Chantia Lewis of the 9th District
- Supervisor Marcelia Nicholson of the 5th District

Employees and friends of Flowers for Dreams, a local online flower delivery shop in Milwaukee, will hand out 200-300 mini bouquets to participants throughout the march, and wear themed Women’s March t-shirts. The bouquets will be wrapped with a tag reading, “We, the Women.”
Renee Rollman, 34, an engineering technician, said Saturday’s March will be her first.
“It's been inspiring to watch and be a part of this next generation of women and men who are working toward closing the gap on gender inequality. Marches are empowering and I hope this event will draw more attention to the cause and further fan the flames of progress,” she said.
Rollman said the two biggest issues are equal pay and the need to stop sexual misconduct in the workplace. Rollman said she has dealt with both issues at the workplace and is looking forward to the day when she will be judged solely by her capabilities and character and not by her gender.
