OSHKOSH, WI — An Oshkosh man was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after prosecutors said he robbed a Kwik Trip with a revolver last fall.

Lorenzo Wood Jr., 59, was sentenced Wednesday to 180 months in prison for Hobbs Act robbery and possession of a firearm as a felon by an armed career criminal, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin announced Thursday.

According to court documents, Wood walked into the Kwik Trip off Highway 41 on Jackson Street in Oshkosh just after midnight on Oct. 13, 2025, while holding a revolver. Prosecutors said he pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register.

The clerk gave Wood $170, and Wood left in a silver SUV, according to prosecutors.

Law enforcement tracked the SUV and identified Wood using the vehicle, surveillance footage from inside the store and what prosecutors described as his "distinct walking gait." A search of Wood's home later turned up the revolver used in the robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

At sentencing, U.S. District Judge Byron B. Conway noted the serious nature of the robbery, its impact on the victim and Wood's history of similar convenience store robberies, prosecutors said.

Wood will serve five years of supervised release after his prison term.
