Appleton Police continues noise violation crackdown in downtown corridor (wtaq.com) — If you drive through downtown Appleton, expect stricter enforcement on loud vehicles—Appleton Police have issued 306 noise-related actions from January through May, a five-year high. City leaders say the jump reflects targeted enforcement after residents and the 'Stop the Noise' group pushed for quieter streets.
   

2. Menasha Corporation commits $1M to Appleton-Menasha tornado recovery (postcrescent.com) — Appleton-area residents recovering from the July 27 Appleton-Menasha tornado will see a major boost, as Menasha Corporation is donating $1 million over two years for relief and rebuilding. An initial $250,000 will go to the Community Response Fund, with additional support planned to help affected families, workers, and local businesses long term.
   

3. Shirley M. Coulter (Denham) (waupacanow.com) — Family and friends are mourning 90-year-old Shirley M. Coulter, who passed away peacefully at Dimensions Living in Appleton on August 20. A lifelong educator and children's science advocate, she spent decades teaching in Wisconsin, quilting for charity, and encouraging donations to libraries, humane societies, and other local causes in her memory.
   

4. Two charged after bar fight in front of Appleton police officers (wearegreenbay.com) — Appleton police say two people are facing charges after starting a bar fight right in front of officers monitoring closing-time crowds. One person was arrested on felony substantial battery and disorderly conduct, while the other was referred for disorderly conduct; more details are available in the department's online Captain's Log.
