3. When lightning looks like a strobe light (cnn.com) — Among several dramatic weather clips, one short video focuses on an EF2 tornado that toppled trees and power lines around a driver in the Appleton area, damaging homes in Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah. 4. Menasha staff, DNR set talk on rebuilding, floodplain requirements (postcrescent.com) — Residents affected by the Appleton-Menasha tornado can get crucial guidance on FEMA floodplain rules and rebuilding at a town hall Sept. 15, 5–7 p.m., at Menasha High School. City staff and DNR experts will explain substantial-damage reviews, permits, and next steps, with a livestream option for those who can't attend in person.
5. Raising Cane's to build on site of former Applebee's in Grand Chute (postcrescent.com) — A new Raising Cane's restaurant is slated for the former Applebee's site on West College Avenue in nearby Grand Chute, adding another fast-food option for Fox Cities residents, including those in Appleton.
