Appleton Board Of Education Community Listening Session Set For 4 PM Monday

Participants wishing to speak during the open forum will be required to pre-register.

The Appleton Area School District will be holding a Community Listening Session on Monday, August 10, 2020, beginning at 4:00 PM. This will be an open forum opportunity for members of the public to address the Board. Participants wishing to speak during the open forum will be required to pre-register here by 12:00 (noon) on Monday.

Detailed information about the Community Listening Session can be found on BoardDocs. If you do not wish to speak during the meeting, you do not need to register in order to watch the meeting proceedings. As with other meetings of the Board, the Community Listening Session will be broadcast via live stream on the Appleton Area School District YouTube Channel. Written Comments
All written comments will be shared publicly on BoardDocs. Members of the public can submit written comments to the Board of Education by filling out the public participation form. Written comments will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. on the date of the scheduled meeting. Written comments will not be read during the open forum, but will be published in BoardDocs following the close of registration. You may also choose to email the Board of Education at aasdboard@aasd.k12.wi.us. All seven board members will receive these comments, but they will not be published.

Oral Comments During Open Forum
In order to speak during the open forum, members of the public must complete the registration form. On the form, please check the box indicating that you wish to speak, and provide a working telephone number.

During the open forum, you will be called at the phone number provided. Once you are connected into the meeting, the Board President will indicate when you should begin speaking. Speakers will be asked to state their name and address, and limit their comments to a maximum of three (3) minutes in length. The same Board Meeting Protocols that apply during in-person Board of Education meetings apply for virtual meetings. The District and Board reserves the right to end a Speaker’s oral comment if the Speaker violates any of the Board Meeting Protocols (see Policy 187, Appendix 1 for additional information).

Once you have completed the registration, you will receive a confirmation email with additional information. Please watch for that email to come Monday afternoon.
