• Enbridge estimates northern Wisconsin Line 5 gas leak will cost $15M (milwaukeecourier.com) — Ashland County residents are watching closely as Enbridge tallies at least $15 million in costs from August's massive Line 5 gas leak in northern Wisconsin, while construction continues on a reroute that includes a site in the county. Federal regulators are still investigating the spill and recent fires at company facilities as environmental groups push for tougher action.
   

• Evers seeks applicants for District III Court of Appeals (gazettextra.com) — Residents of Ashland County are eligible to apply for a vacant seat on Wisconsin's District III Court of Appeals, which covers much of northern Wisconsin. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 7, and interested locals must submit materials through Gov. Tony Evers' judicial appointments process.
