6 People Die in Wisconsin Plane Crash; Names Released

Authorities have identified the six people who died in a plane crash in northern Wisconsin over the weekend.

PRICE COUNTY, WI — Authorities have identified the six people who died in a plane crash in northern Wisconsin over the weekend.

According to the Price County Sheriff's Office, the following people died in a Saturday, July 1 plane crash in Price County, Wis: Kevin James King, 70, of Bensenville, Ill.; James Francis, 63, of Norco, Calif.; Kyle Demauro, 21, of Bensenville, Ill.; Thomas Demauro, 56, of Bensenville, Ill.; Charles Tomlitz, 69, of Addison, Ill.; George Tomlitz, 45, from Brookfield, Ill.

According to a Journal Sentinel report Monday, the Demaurs and Tomlitzes were father-son relationships.

According to a Facebook post authored by Tioga Elementary School, Thomas DeMauro, Tioga PE teacher and Charles (Chuck) Tomlitz, GCA Maintenance Director for BSD2 were killed in the plane crash.


Authorities are reporting that the plane crashed after rapidly losing altitude as the group embarked on a Canadian fishing trip.

According to Fox news, investigators are still trying to piece together how the private plane, a Cessna 421, fell from the sky.

Price County Sheriff Brian Schmidt reported that the investigation into the crash is continuing with the help of the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Federal Aviation Administration. According toa WFRV report, the national Transportation Safety Board investigators said there was a discussion between the pilot of the plane and air traffic controllers about "local weather phenomenon."
