Anti-Gun 'Die-In' To Target Wisconsin Congressman

End Gun Violence Waukesha to bring Grim Reaper, speakers and people faking death to Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner's office.

BROOKFIELD, WI β€” A local group is planning a "die-in" to protest gun violence at Republican Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner's Brookfield office Tuesday night, according to End Gun Violence Waukesha, an activist group.

Organizers say the die in will involve constituents of Sensenbrenner's 5th Congressional District, who will lay motionless on the ground, and carry with them tombstones and other protest signs.

The event starts Tuesday, May 29 at about 7:30 p.m. as group members assemble at Sensenbrenner's Brookfield office, 120 Bishops Way, Suite 154 in Brookfield. The die-in is expected to start at 7:45 p.m. and involved several speakers over a period of 45 minutes.

"The die-in" will illustrate the epidemic of gun violence as a public health issue that is currently not being addressed in Congress, and will target Rep. Sensenbrenner specifically as he has served in the House of Representatives for nearly 40 years - through multiple mass shootings in his district - and has failed to do anything to stop the constant barrage of gun violence that continue to occur," Kelly Ward of End Gun Violence Waukesha said in a prepared statement.
