Patch Tour: Meet Patch Editors, Get Goodies
From a community rummage sale and a graduation ceremony to sports, music and business events, Brookfield Patch staff will be on "tour" next week to say "hello" and make new connections.
Since we hit the switch on Brookfield Patch almost three months ago, we've committed to becoming the best source for top-quality news coverage in this community.
But from the very beginning, Patch always sought to be more than just a news site. From our Events calendar, our Directory and Comment Stream to new developments like the Patch iPhone app and our Local Voices blogging feature, we have tried to develop an engaging online community.
And coming up in mid-May, we're going to take Brookfield Patch into the streets with our first Patch Tour. Local Editor Lisa Sink or other Patch editors and journalists will be out at a series of community events from May 14-21. We'll be creating various posts for our site, but also meeting people, answering questions and — if you ask nice — giving away goodies. Look for Brookfield Patch at the following events:
May 14 — Brookfield Jaycees Rummage Daze, Wirth Park
May 15 — Brookfield Academy graduation
May 16 — Brookfield Central at Brookfield East girls softball game
May 17 — Brookfield government meeting
May 18 — Brookfield East Orchestra ConcertÂ
May 19 — Chamber of Commerce Business After 5
May 20 — Brookfield East Fellowship of Christian Athletes badminton tourney
May 21 — International Bird City event
Look for Brookfield Patch as we take part in our first Patch Tour, and help us continue to connect with this wonderful community.
