Eat Local With the Kids for Cheap(er)

We're a fairly frugal family, and I've got a thick coupon organizer to prove it. I cook at home a lot, and we try to eat healthy. But we like to go out from time to time — who doesn't? We try to eat at places we have coupons for, and we like to patronize local, non-chain establishments when possible. Here are a few free or discount offers for dining out with the kids — please feel free to add any I've left off!

Chancery (Waukesha) — Tuesday is Kid's Day: kids pay their height for each kid's meal, only a penny per inch. (the kids like this — they turn it into a competition, like everything else)

Charcoal Grill & Rotisserie (New Berlin) — Wednesday: two kids 10 & under eat FREE with purchase of adult meal & beverage

Charro (Brookfield) — Kids eat free all day on Mondays, and pay just $1.99 on Sundays.

Firefly Urban Bar & Grill (Tosa) — Kids 10 & under eat free Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday with the purchase of an adult meal.

Flat Top Grill (Tosa) — Monday: receive one free kid's meal per adult meal purchase (kids ages 10 & under). Kids under 4 always eat free.

Haute Taco (Brookfield) — 99 cent tacos (for adults, too), some limitations apply from 4 to 7 p.m. on Mondays

Maxie's Southern Comfort (Milwaukee/Tosa) — Sunday: kids meals are only $1 for children 12 & under with paying adult.

North Star American Bistro (Brookfield) — Sunday: kids eat free. They've got a great kids menu — grilled chicken sandwich, homemade chicken nuggets, salads, etc. Kids meals come with a refillable drink and a scoop of ice cream every day.

Stir Crazy (Brookfield) — On Tuesdays & Thursdays, you can get one free kid's meal with the purchase of an adult meal. Drink and dessert included. Valid after 4pm, kids 10 years or younger.

Tazino's (Menomonee Falls) — Kids age 3 & under eat free every day with adult meal purchase.
