Even With 20/20 Vision, School Problems Can Result
Your child can have 20/20 vision but still suffer from undetected vision issues. Detecting these vision problems can extend beyond school testing and often requires a developmental optometrist.

Many of us are familiar with the term “20/20 vision.” What we may not realize is that this term refers only to “acuity,” or the clarity and sharpness of vision.
There are a number of other visual skills that also play a critical role in a child’s ability to learn. When these visual skills are compromised, problems in school often result. A binocular vision disorder, for example, won’t allow a child’s eyes to work together when reading.
The key to detecting these types of problems often extends beyond the testing offered by schools and even some general optometrists. Click here to read more about School Problems Can Result Even with 20/20 Vision.
