Brookfield Aldi Hostage Suspect Video, Sketch Released
Authorities have released a sketch and surveillance footage showing the suspect accused of staging an armed robbery of the Brookfield Aldi.

BROOKFIELD, WI — Police in the Town of Brookfield are engaging in a manhunt for the man accused of holding up an Aldi grocery store late Saturday evening. Authorities have released a sketch and surveillance footage showing the man in the hopes that the new information will lead to the arrest of their primary suspect.

An armed robbery at the Brookfield Aldi is what led businesses along Bluemound Rd. to end up in lockdown late Saturday night, police are reporting.

According to a FOX 6 Now report, as officers arrived on scene, they observed the armed male suspect directing employees inside before fleeing with an unspecified amount of money.
The report stated that two employees were able to escape and a customer hid in the store until it was safe.

Police Block Off Area
According to reports, police responded to a tactical situation at the Aldi at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. Police blocked the entrance to Bluemound Plaza as they tended to the scene.

According to WISN, a 12 News employee was shopping at the Brookfield Best Buy store nearby, reported that customers were in lockdown inside the store for about three hours as officers had guns drawn in the parking lot of the electronics store. After three hours, customers were reportedly escorted to their cars by law enforcement after the lockdown was lifted.

SWAT teams with riot shields and armored personnel vehicles surrounded the Aldi as they tended to the apparent threat, and Brookfield police deployed their K-9 unit in response to the hostage situation just after 11:30 p.m. according to reports.
