Brookfield Central Girls Soccer Team Headed to State

After 2-0 win over crosstown rivals Brookfield East, Lancers take on Neenah in quarterfinal action in state tournament.

The Brookfield Central High School girls soccer team is advancingΒ to the WIAA State Tournament after defeating crosstown rival Brookfield East, 2-0, in Saturday's sectional final.

The Lancers'Β Sierra High scored the team's first goal atΒ 13 minutes 42 seconds in the first half. TheΒ second goal cameΒ at 73:14 when Lulu Zuba scored on an assist fromΒ Abby Miller, according to the Journal Sentinel.

Central goalkeeper Rachel Oleson had six saves in the shutout, according to WisSports.net.

Central, which is going to the state tournament for the first time since 2009, will play Neenah at noon Thursday in a Division 1 quarterfinal gameΒ at theΒ Uihlein Soccer Park inΒ Milwaukee. The winner of that game will play in the state semifinal on Friday.
