Brookfield Man Dies in Freak I-94 Accident
A 51-year-old man from Brookfield died Monday night when the vehicle he was driving was struck by debris from a semi-truck.
BROOKFIELD, WI — A 51-year-old man from Brookfield died Monday night when the vehicle he was driving was struck by debris from a semi truck on I-94 near Johnson Creek.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the driver, Jay W. Tichelaar, died when debris from the semi truck in front of him on eastbound I-94 slammed through the windshield he was driving. A piece of the truck's brake system broke off when it traveled through the windshield of Tichelaar's vehicle.
The semi truck has not been located and the accident remains under investigation.
