Brookfield Rail Depot To Become Fiddleheads Coffee Shop
The historic Brookfield rail depot will be moved from in-between two rail lines to a new location at the head of a Waukesha bike trail.

BROOKFIELD, WI -- One of Brookfield's oldest buildings - the historic rail depot built back in 1866 - is literally on the move, thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
According to a Milwaukee Biz Times report, the WEDC awarded Brookfield the grant to help fund the relocation of the rail depot - currently nestled precariously between two sets of railroad tracks - to a posh location on 19100 North Hills Drive. The move will coincide with the historic structure being converted int a Fiddleheads coffee shop.
The 2,500-square-foot coffee shop will be situated at the trail head for a Waukesha County bike trail. According to the report, Waukesha County will extend an existing bike trail to Fiddleheads.
