BROOKFIELD, WI — Three Brookfield Central High School students as well as one from Brookfield East are among 200 graduating seniors from around Wisconsin that have earned $10,000 scholarships from the Herb Kohl Foundation, school officials announced Friday.
Brookfield Central seniors Niyati Hansaria, Manasvi Paturu and Natalie Winn have been selected as Excellence Scholarship recipients as has Brookfield East senior Alena Wadzinske. The four area students were selected by the foundation based on the students’ academic leadership and other criteria based on their involvement during their high school careers.

Excellence Scholarship recipients have demonstrated excellence in the academic arena and a high motivation to achieve, foundation officials said in a news release. In addition, the recipients have displayed a broad range of activity and leadership outside of the academic setting and have shown strong promise toward succeeding in college and beyond, the foundation announced.
