Brookfield Square Renovations Delayed after Developer Misses Plan Deadline

Brookfield officials are giving Brookfield Square owners until Nov. 1 to get their latest round of plans to the city.

BROOKFIELD - Plans for the next phase of development at Brookfield Square were not submitted to city officials by June 1, which means there will be delays in the mall's next round of improvements.

According to a report by Brookfield NOW, Brookfield Square owner CBL and Associates have until Nov. 1 to get their plans to the city, under an extension granted by the city this month.

The plans - which are said to be finished by the end of 2018 -  call for 50,000 square feet of new retail space that would be located between Boston Store and Bluemound Road, a new parking structure on the west side of the mall with a second-floor bridge into Boston Store.
