Charges for Woman In Attempted Carjacking at Brookfield Kohl's Department Store

A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman has been charged after a female was injured during an attempted carjacking in Brookfield at Kohl's Dep't Store

BROOKFIELD -- A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman has been charged after a female was injured during an attempted carjacking in Brookfield on Oct. 24.

Raven S. Coley has been charged with attempted robbery and attempted operating of a motor vehicle without owner's consent - both as party to a crime. Coley faces up to 15 years behind bars if she in convicted.

According to her criminal complaint, police were called to the Kohl's Department Store at 2315 N. 124th St. in Brookfield on a report of a strong-armed robbery complaint.

When police arrived on the scene, they learned that a female leaving the Kohl's department store went to her car in the parking lot, when she was approached by a suspicious party.

According to Coley's criminal complaint, the suspicious person demanded her car keys, but when she refused and resisted handing the keys over to the suspect, the suspect slammed the car door into the victim's face before fleeing the scene.

According to her criminal complaint, Coley was the driver of the vehicle that contained the carjacking suspect on Oct. 24. Police obtained a description of Coley's vehicle and made contact with her a short time later, where she confessed to the incident.

Coley told police that after the unsuccessful carjacking, the suspect attempted to persuade Coley and other passengers in her vehicle to try another carjacking, but she refused because she had to go back to Brown Deer to pick up her child, the criminal complaint stated.
