Chips Ahoy Cookies Recalled In Wisconsin, Nationwide

MILWAUKEE, WI— Heads up, Wisconsin: a nationwide recall has been issued for Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies. The maker of these cookies said some could contain an “unexpected solidified ingredient.” The ingredients in the cookies, sold at major retailers including Walmart, reportedly became solidified.
“Some reports of potential adverse health effects have been received,” the notice said.

Further about the negative health effects weren’t immediately known. Messages left with Mondelēz Global weren’t immediately returned.

This recall applies only to Chips Ahoy Chewy Cookie products with a UPC code of 0 44000 03223 4. The products have best used by dates of Sept. 7, 8, 14 and 15.
