Drunk Man Struck, Flew Over Boat, Killing Jill Ladwig: Police
Police say a boat piloted by a drunk man struck a pontoon boat, flying over it and resulting in the death of Jill Ladwig.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 53-year-old man from Hartland, WIs. was arrested and charged with the boating death of 61-year-old Jill Ladwig over the weekend on Lake Nagawicka.
According to police, Anthony F. Drewes, has been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
According to the criminal complaint, Drewes was piloting a deck boat at about 25 miles per hour when he struck a pontoon boat at about 5:45 p.m. Friday when Ladwig was thrown from the boat.

The complaint stated that Drewes' boat T-boned the pontoon boat, and flew over it, during the crash.
Authorities say Ladwig was thrown from the boat, suffered blunt-force trauma, and died from drowning.

When police responded, Drewes was trying to hide from police in the water when officers arrived. Officers conducted a search of the boat and found beer and alcohol on board the boat that Drewes was said to be piloting, according to the complaint.
