Former Brookfield Resident Joins School District as Assistant Superindent

Erik Kass is the Elmbrook School District's new assistant superintendent for finance, human resources and operations.

The Elmbrook School Board hasΒ named Erik Kass as the district’sΒ new assistant superintendent for finance, human resources and operations.

Kass has operated his own K-12 business solutions consulting firm for the past 18Β months, serving school districts across Wisconsin. Prior to that, he was the assistantΒ superintendent for finance and operations at the Madison Metropolitan School DistrictΒ and director of business services at the School District of Waukesha.

Kass is aΒ former Brookfield resident and is looking forward to returning to the district to serve in aΒ position that’s highly regarded across the region and state.

"The reality for me was that the perfect job opened and there isn’t another job in theΒ state of Wisconsin that would have drawn my interest at this point in my career," Kass said.Β "I hope to continue balancing the fiscal needs of the district with the diverseΒ learning needs of students. Attracting and retaining high-quality staff, efficientΒ operations and long-term financial and facility planning are critical to that balance. I amΒ deeply honored to serve as the assistant superintendent."

Kass replaces Keith Brightman, who left the district to pursue a position in theΒ private sector that focuses on public financing. The new assistant superintendent willΒ join Elmbrook effective Aug. 1.Β

"We were very fortunate to attract a talented pool of school finance leaders for thisΒ position, and Erik Kass rose to the top of the list due to his extensive and diverseΒ experience and his passion for supporting student learning," said ElmbrookΒ Superintendent Mark Hansen. "I have great confidence in Erik and his ability to helpΒ move our district from great to greater."
