Glendale's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony to Feature 40-foot Live Balsam Tree

Dazzling family-friendly ceremony to mark official start of holiday season in Glendale

GLENDALE (Nov. 17, 2015) - The City of Glendale and Bayshore Town Center will present the ninth annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Bayshore’s Town Square on Saturday, November 21 at 6 p.m. Attendees of this free event will be able to kick off the holiday season by participating in the countdown to the tree lighting, when hundreds of lights will be turned on to illuminate the live 40-foot Balsam tree with 6,500 lights and 88 snowflakes in the heart of the City. Overall, Bayshore Town Center will have 95,000 holiday lights as part of the celebration.

Attendees will also be able to enjoy:

  • Horse-drawn carriage rides from 5 - 9 p.m. ($5 Adults & $2 Children)
  • Live music from Caribbean Eclipse
  • Snow fairies and the arrival of Santa
  • Storytime inside Barnes & Noble at 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

This family-friendly event will also include a variety of activities at Barnes & Noble including crafts and storytime. There will be samplings and special gifts provided by Blaze Pizza, Teavana and BD’s Mongolian Grill.
