Help Big Brothers Big Sisters match more youth with mentors!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee has an ongoing need for volunteer mentors. Currently there are hundreds of youth waiting for a mentor. We continually recruit mentors who make a minimum two-year commitment and agree to meet with their Little Brother or Little Sister three to four times each month. Our volunteer mentors are carefully screened, orientated, trained, and professionally supported to ensure they are equipped to provide a young person with a life-changing mentoring relationship.

Want to help? Host a recruitment event at your work place, church, or with your social group. Here are some examples of recruitment events:

• On Site Tabling: Our staff will come to your location and be present in a highly trafficked area to talk with people and answer questions about our programs.

• Informal Presentations: We’re ready to make short presentations (about 10 minutes) and answer all your questions! Morning coffee breaks, lunch hours, or department meetings are great platforms to host a Big Brothers Big Sisters speaker.

• Formal Presentation: We’d love to make a formal presentation (about 30 minutes) to your employees or members about Big Brothers Big Sisters, highlighting our programs and the benefits of mentoring for both youth & volunteers.

• Lunch and Learn: Same as formal presentation, but with food. Provide a meal or encourage staff to bring their own. Employees or members can eat and learn as we discuss volunteering as a mentor. Breakfast and Learn is a great option for those with busy work days.

• Connect Us: Does your corporation or church have a person dedicated to volunteerism? If so, please introduce us and allow that person or department to help with our recruitment and outreach within your company.
