John Kastner of R.A. Smith National Selected Wisconsin's Young Engineer of the Year
Wisconsin Young Engineer of the Year award winner employed at Brookfield's R.A. Smith National.
BROOKFIELD, Wis. — John Kastner, P.E., group manager with R.A. Smith National — a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm — headquartered in Brookfield, Wis., has received the 2014-2015 Wisconsin Young Engineer of the Year Award by the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE). The award was presented during the WSPE Discovery Conference on May 27.
The WSPE Young Engineer of the Year Award is presented annually to an outstanding contributor to the engineering profession. Individuals who are named to receive this award are recognized by their peers for their outstanding performance in engineering and their ability and willingness to serve the engineering profession as leaders to the future. Prior to receiving the State award, in February 2015 Kastner received the 2014 Young Engineer of the Year Award from WSPE’s Milwaukee Metro Chapter.
Kastner has more than 12 years of experience in various engineering construction and design roles for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, local governments and private developers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is an MBA candidate at Marquette University.
