Sixteen teams, including Brookfield East and Central, battled it out in Brookfield Central's gym for a girls varsity volleyball invite Saturday. 

The Brookfield Central Lancers won the gold bracket championship after defeating Burlington (25-20, 14-25, 15-10), Menomonee Falls (25-12, 24-26, 15-6) and Pius XI (20-25, 25-17, 15-13).

In the silver bracket, the Brookfield East Spartans knocked off Cedarburg (28-26, 25-13) but then lost to Westosha Central (21-25, 25-17, 15-8).
