Police Report: Jewelry Burglary, Peacock Sighting and More

Jewelry burglary: A resident on the 1000 block of Leon Terrace reported Wednesday that someone had stolen about $3,000 worth of jewelry from the home sometime in the past week. Police determined the suspect likely entered through a rear window.

Fake ID confiscated from minor: A 19-year-old attempted to buy alcohol Thursday night from the at 17630 W. Bluemound Rd. The employee, who recognized the subject, confiscated the minor’s ID, which had a correct name but a false date of birth marked as two years older.

Peacock on the loose? A Brookfield resident reported a peacock running across Lilly Road Tuesday afternoon just north of . The responding officer asked if he was sure it was not a turkey, and the caller said he was certain it was a peacock.

Odd Thefts:

• Some less traditional valuables were targeted Tuesday night at Petsmart at 585 Main St. Employees discovered $1,077.85 worth of flea and tick products were missing, but they had not witnessed any suspicious activity.
• A man stole $472 worth of lobster tails and legs Wednesday from Sendik's at 18985 W. Capitol Dr. Surveillance footage shows him taking and concealing the lobster.
• At Spencer Gifts, at 95 N. Moorland Rd., $824.66 worth of hats were stolen between 2 and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
