R.A. Smith National Celebrates Culmination of June Nature Challenge

The Wisconsin Green Building Alliance 30x30 Nature Challenge has come to an end. Did YOU make the most of it?

R.A. Smith National invited employees to a picnic at Mitchell Park in the City of Brookfield on June 30 in celebration of the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance’s (WGBA) 30 x 30 Nature Challenge for the month of June. WGBA challenged individuals and organizations throughout the state to spend at least 30 minutes outside in nature during the 30 days of June.

Bill Kolstad, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry for the City of Brookfield, provided a history and overview of the City’s park system and the Greenway Trail System, and encouraged all in attendance to make use of the City’s parks and trails.

Tom Mortensen, site planner and landscape architect with R.A. Smith National, shared his experiences in working with the City of Brookfield, where he has provided park site master planning for Imperial Neighborhood Park, Lilly Heights Park (now under construction), Meadows of Brookfield Neighborhood Park (currently in planning stages) and improvements at the Mitchell Park Dog Exercise Area.
