Rash of Car Thefts in Brookfield; Police ask Citizens to Take Precaution
Police in Brookfield are advising citizens to take precautions at night if at all possible after several vehicles were stolen this month.
BROOKFIELD, WI — Police in Brookfield are advising citizens to park their vehicles in their locked garages at night if at all possible after several vehicles were stolen over the last month.
Authorities are stressing that if vehicles need to be left outside please lock them in their driveways, and to not leave any keys in any vehicles.
The City of Brookfield has had five vehicles stolen from driveways and or open garages in the past month. Surrounding agencies are experiencing similar thefts.

Please leave exterior lights on during hours of darkness and report any suspicious activity and or persons to law enforcement immediately (262-787-3700 or 911).The vehicle thefts appear to be occurring after midnight and before 5:30 a.m.
Authorities advise citizens to not leave unattended vehicles running in your driveway in the early morning hours.
