Schroeder Named Principal of Wisconsin Hills Middle School

BROOKFIELD, WI -- The School District of Elmbrook’s Board of Education has confirmed Matt Schroeder as the next principal of Wisconsin Hills Middle School.

Schroeder is currently an Associate Principal at Brookfield Central, and will replace Lisa Rettler, who was appointed to the position of Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning for the Elmbrook Schools.

“Matt Schroeder comes to Wisconsin Hills with a multitude of leadership experiences and great connections to our students and families,” said Superintendent Mark Hansen in a statement to Patch. “Mr. Schroeder’s work with teachers and open communication with students and families has made him a great leader in our District and we are excited to have him join the Wisconsin Hills team.”

District officials say Schroeder has held a variety of positions since he began teaching Spanish in Elmbrook in 1998. He moved on to Brookfield East in 2000 teaching Spanish, English, and Reading Intervention courses, before becoming a Teaching and Learning Specialist and an AVID Site Team member.

Most recently, Schroeder has held the Associate Principal position at Brookfield Central High School since 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh in 1997, his Master of Education from Cardinal Stritch University iin 2004, Alternative Education License from Concordia University in 2011, and Principal Certification from Marquette University in 2015.

Schroeder will begin his role as Principal of Wisconsin Hills in July.
