Shake Shack Planning To Build In Town Of Brookfield
The shake and burger restaurant is eyeing a site near the Corners of Brookfield.

BROOKFIELD, WI — A high-profile burger restaurant is looking to build its first location in the Town of Brookfield.
Hunter Development Group applied in June to build a Shake Shack at 585 N. Barker Road. The property was the site of a Perkins Restaurant & Bakery that closed in October, GMToday reported.
The new Shake Shack would be the chain's third Wisconsin location.

The town's Architectural Control Committee reviewed the proposal on July 9, according to the agenda. The town Plan Commission also reviewed the plan in July, when HDG project manager Melanie Bagley spoke with commission members, according to the town agenda.
Some plan commissioners raised concerns about traffic backups as customers flow in and out of the parking lot, GMToday reported.

Members of the Architectural Review Commission will take the project up in a few weeks. The Plan Commission will review the plan again in late August before the proposal goes before the Town Board for a final vote in September, GMToday reported.
At the earliest, Shake Shack could be up and running before the end of the year, Bagley said.
