Teen Smoked K2 Before Crash, Police Say
Waukesha teenager caused a car accident in Brookfield after he bought synthetic marijuana in Oak Creek, a criminal complaint alleges.
A 19-year-old Waukesha man is accused of causing a Brookfield car accident after smoking synthetic marijuana and driving.
Brandon J. Lehr was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with felony bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to three years and three months in prison and $10,500 in fines.

On Nov. 1, Brookfield police officers were called to North Avenue near Lilly Road for a traffic accident involving an SUV and car. When officers arrived, Lehr and two other males were sitting in a ditch on the south side of North Avenue.
Officers discovered the SUV was traveling eastbound on North when a car driven by Lehr heading westbound crossed the center line and hit the SUV.

When officers spoke to Lehr about the accident, he seemed confused and lethargic, and appeared to not know he was in an accident. After three to five minutes, Lehr realized what happened and said "holy (expletive). Was anyone killed?"
Lehr said he had purchased K2 synthetic marijuana from New Spice II in Oak Creek, then smoked it in a Taco Bell parking lot 10 minutes before the accident. He was given field sobriety tests and then taken to Froedtert Hospital for a blood test, the results of which were not in the criminal complaint.
Lehr will make his initial appearance in court Nov. 14.
