St. John Vianney students are creating their own versions of Uglydolls, dolls commercially available in stores and online, as part of their Art curriculum. Fourth grade students first learn about how a product is developed and launched. Then, they design their own two-dimensional doll which serves as a template for the final three-dimensional product. Students learn to sew as they stitch their dolls together. “The students get really excited about this project but realize how much hard work is involved” said Art teacher Dana Bach. “In the end, no matter what their Uglydoll looks like, each student is proud of their achievements.”
