Vipond To Challenge Sensenbrenner In GOP Congressional Primary

BROOKFIELD, WI – This year’s Fifth District congressional race features a new Republican candidate, Jennifer Hoppe Vipond. Vipond is challenging Representative Jim Sensenbrenner, who has held the office since 1979.

“While I respect and share his fiscal conservatism, based on my first-hand experience as a doctor, I know that there are important issues facing our district that are not being addressed. For the sake of this community where I was born and raised, where I raised my family and where I practice medicine, I believe I can represent this community and help tackle those issues,” she told Patch.

The long-time pediatrician says she hopes to bring a prescription for change in her run, with a focus on healthcare policy, the opioid epidemic, and workforce development.

The Republican Primary vote takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. Vipond’s run for Congress in Wisconsin’s fifth district marks the first time in history that a woman has run for this seat in office.

Vipond has been meeting constituents working to get her message out cross the area. Several town-hall
