Watch Flames Consume Elm Grove House Over Weekend

ELM GROVE, WI -- Six firefighters were transported to the hospital and 16 different departments responded to a house fire in Elm Grove over the weekend, after a fire broke out in the home's garage, authorities say.

The fire broke out at about 6:30 p.m. in a historic home located on the 1200 block of Fairhaven Blvd. near Watertown Plank Road in Elm Grove.

According to a WISN 12 report, a 17-year-old who was the only one home said that a neighbor rant into his house, alerting him that there were flames coming out of the garage. He and his neighbor made it safely out of the house, according to reports.

According to a FOX 6 report, the smoke and fire were so intense, that six firefighters had to be transported to the hospital from the scene that night - they were later released from the hospital.

Investigators are trying to determine a cause of the fire, though authorities have determined the home's garage is a total loss.
