Waukesha Man Changes Prescription From Cane to Oxycodone
Man took forged prescription to Sam's Club in the Town of Brookfield, but police were waiting for him when he picked up the pills, a criminal complaint alleges.
A Waukesha man tried to pass a forged prescription for pain killers after his physician's script was altered to authorize Oxycodone instead of a walking cane, a criminal complaint alleges.
Nicholas M. Graefe, 31, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

Town of Brookfield police on Dec. 19 were called to after Graefe dropped off a prescription for Oxycodone, and the pharmacist called the doctor who said the presciption originally had been written for a walking cane.
Police waited 45 minutes at the store until Graefe came back to pick up the pills and he was arrested.

Graefe told police it was his cousin’s idea to forge the prescription and made the changes for him. He said they planned to split the pills, which Graefe said he wanted for back issues he was having.
He will make his initial appearance in court June 11.
