Ten minutes later police officers were called to Cromwell Court West after someone spotted Williams’ car idling with its lights off behind a pine tree in the back yard of a residence. Officers combed the area but were unable to locate him.

Williams’ attorney contacted police one week later and told them his client wanted to turn himself into police and cooperate. Williams told officers he ran on foot from his car to a hotel near Goerke’s Corners where he got a cab and went to Milwaukee.

He will make his initial appearance in court July 2.
