UPDATE: Police Search for Guaranty Bank Robbers
Guaranty Bank at 127th Street and Capitol Drive, Brookfield, was robbed Thursday afternoon. Three men went in, at least one armed, and two more were waiting in a backup getaway car.

Police from Brookfield, Wauwatosa and Butler were searching for as many as fiveΒ men involved in robbing a Guaranty Bank branch near those borders Thursday afternoon.
Three armed men entered the bankΒ at 12655 W. Capitol Dr. in Brookfield just after 1 p.m. Brookfield police were summoned at 1:04 p.m., and the first officer arrived within 30 seconds. But the robbers had already escaped and remained at large late Thursday, Brookfield police said.
According to witnesses, three menΒ entered the bank with their faces covered, and at leastΒ one semi-automatic handgun was displayed. Bank employees were ordered toΒ the floor, and two suspects jumped the counters and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The planned getaway car, a silver Chevy Lumina, wasΒ abandoned on the service drive in front of the bank, apparently because a dye pack attached toΒ the money had detonated in the vehicle.
The three suspects thenΒ fled on foot north across Capitol Drive and behind an office building toΒ a second car with two other occupants. ThatΒ vehicle was described as a black, four-door, mid-size Hyundai or Honda.

The robbers and their accomplicesΒ then fled north on 127th Street. Stolen money and other evidence was locatedΒ at 124th Street and Congress Avenue.Β Officers from Wauwatosa andΒ Butler assisted in the search.Β
