• New Caledonia restaurant, event space opens (lakegenevanews.net) — A new restaurant and event space, 3 Acres by Marci and Jason on Douglas Avenue, has just opened its doors in Caledonia, drawing a crowd for its launch. Local business leaders joined owners Marci Bruley and Jason Winkler to celebrate the addition of this new gathering spot, which aims to become a fresh option for dining and events close to home.
   

• Peter James Ross, 89, of Franksville (racinecountyeye.com) — Funeral services for longtime area resident Peter James Ross will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at St. Louis Catholic Church on Highway G in Caledonia, with visitation that morning and burial in St. Louis Cemetery. Family, friends, and neighbors are invited to honor his life, which centered on faith, hard work, and deep devotion to his children and grandchildren.
